2 kids missing as boat sinks in Cotabato river

TWO children were reported missing after the boat they were riding capsized Wednesday morning in a river in North Cotabato province.

The incident happened around 7 a.m. Wednesday at Pulangi River, Barangay Tamped in Kabacan town, the country's disaster risk reduction council reported Wednesday afternoon.

Aboard the boat were elementary pupils who were on their way to attend a Math Olympics, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) added.

The identities of the missing children are still not known as of this posting Wednesday.

The DRRMC in Kabacan has deployed rescuers to conduct search and rescue operation.

Authorities are still investigating the incident. (Sunnex)
