Blaze guts mall in Manila

A THREE-storey mall in Manila has been gutted slowly by an inferno, which firefighters are still trying to control as of this posting Wednesday, reports said.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said the fire happened at Tutuban Mall in Claro M. Recto Avenue, Manila.
The blaze started around 12:41 a.m. Wednesday at the mid-portion of a stall, occupied by a certain Maria Theresa Chen, located at the ground floor of the establishment, the NDRRMC said.
The fire quickly spread out to the entire commercial building, according to the ocular inspection made by the members of the Arson team.
A general alarm was raised around 5:35 a.m. Wednesday.
The NDRRMC said personnel of Tondo, San Nicolas and San Lazaro fire stations, Bureau of Fire Protection-Manila with several fire volunteers first responded to the incident.
No one was reported injured in the blaze. (Sunnex)
