Low chance for tropical cyclone formation this week

MANILA -- State weather forecasters said Wednesday the low pressure area near Eastern Luzon will dissipate within the day because of its close proximity to land.
The weather disturbance spotted some 80 kilometers east of Infanta, Quezon, however, is still expected to bring rains to Southern Luzon, Bicol and the Visayas, said the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
"There is little chance for a tropical cyclone formation this week," Pagasa Administrator Nathaniel Servando said in a text message.
At least two storms are expected to visit the country this month, which often make landfall in Luzon.
