Sarangani town mayor unscathed in ambush

THE town mayor of Sarangani, Davao del Sur province was not injured after he was waylaid by unidentified perpetrators Thursday night, radio reports said.
Sarangani Mayor Jerry Cawa, together with two escorts, was onboard a multicab vehicle coming from Barangay Gomtago when the incident happened around 6 p.m. Thursday.
Reports said the ambush occurred when the multicab, driven by the mayor, reached Sitio Kawayan in Barangay Batuganding.
The mayor escaped unscathed from the attack. However, one of his escorts identified as Jeofrey Mandod was hit in the arm.
The police are now investigating the incident. (Sunnex)
