MANILA -- Authorities have recovered the wreckage of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) plane that crashed off Bataan province last May.
Radio and television reports on Sunday said that the SF-260 TP Warrior plane was found Saturday under the sea of Mariveles, Bataan at a depth of 80 feet.
The plane, carrying two pilots, crashed last May 18 while on a routine flight training exercise. One of the pilots identified as Neil Tumaneng was found dead last August, while his co-pilot First Lieutenant Michael Arugay remains missing as of this posting.
PAF Commanding General Lauro Catalino Dela Cruz has ordered an immediate investigation to determine what caused the accident.
The wreckage was recovered by volunteer technical divers and members of PAF and the Philippine Navy.
The PAF said that its 15th Strike Wing, the main unit handling the search and retrieval operations, will continue searching for the missing pilot. (Sunnex)
