MANILA – "Watch your back."
This was the advice of San Juan City Representative JV Ejercito to Movie and Television Review and Classification Board(MTRCB) chairwoman Grace Poe-Llamanzares, who is being considered both by the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) and the Liberal Party (LP) in their senatorial slates.
President Benigno Aquino III himself said the MTRCB official is included in the ruling party's line-up. Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, however, insisted that Llamanzares is already part of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) slate.
UNA is the alliance of Vice President Jejomar Binay's Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) and the Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) of former President Joseph Estrada.
Llamanzares is the daughter of the late actor Ferdinand Poe Jr., a close friend of Estrada.
"I wish all the best to my kinakapatid [godsister]. I understand her decision in joining LP. But I hope she will watch her back, because she's in the company of people who said 'FPJ has nothing in his head' and hammer the last nail in the 2004 election bid of [FPJ] with the word 'noted'," Ejercito said in a text message to reporters.
As a member of the national board of canvassers in 2004, Senator Francis Pangilinan shot down requests of the opposition to scrutinize election returns allegedly indicating fraud by merely replying "noted."
"That eventually sealed Arroyo's fraudulent victory. She will always be loved by our family and the people of San Juan, no matter what happens," Ejercito said. (Kathrina Alvarez/Sunnex)
