Rebels torch spray truck in Cotabato

AUTHORITTIES are now conducting a manhunt operation against communist rebels who attacked on Thursday morning a banana plantation in the province of Cotabato, a radio report said.
The New People's Army (NPA) also allegedly burned the boom spray truck of the Dole Standfilco banana plantation in Sitio Basak, Barangay Malabuan, Makilala, North Cotabato.
The NPA, an armed wing of the Communist Party of the Philippines, immediately fled after the incident, the report added.
Authorities believed that extortion was the motive behind the attack. (Sunnex)
