14 new Cebu courts created

MANILA -- Senators on Monday passed on third and final reading bills seeking the creation of 71 courts that is aimed at easing the backlog of cases in the country.
Of this number, fourteen are from Cebu (three in Danao City, seven in Mandaue and four in Barili) while four are in Nabuntaran, Compostela Valley; one in Cauayan, Isabela; four in Malaybalay, Bukidnon.
The rest of the new courts include one in Kidapawan, North Cotabato; one in Bais, Negros Oriental; two in San Mateo, Rzal; 15 in Antipolo, Rizal; two in Lucena, Quezon; three in San Pedro, Laguna; one in Sta. Cruz, Laguna; six in Binan, Laguna; four in Paniqui, Tarlac; six in Angeles, Pampanga and five in Malabon City.
A municipal trial court will also be added in Antipolo, Rizal and one metropolitan trial court in Malabon City. (Virgil Lopez/Sunnex)
