MANILA -- Philippine Ambassador to China Sonia Brady will remain as the country's envoy to Beijing until President Benigno Aquino III appoints a new one, Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario said Monday.
The Secretary said that Brady is "doing well," and will come back to the country soon.
Brady last month suffered from stroke in Beijing. She was visited by del Rosario in China shortly after she fell ill.
Since Brady is still recovering, charge d'affaires Alex Chua is currently handling Manila's interests in Beijing.
Brady was appointed by Aquino in May this year amid tensed territorial disputes in the West Philippine Sea (South China Sea). (CVB/Sunnex)
