MANILA -- Malacañang relieved Carlos Gadapan, the deputy director general for operations of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) due to "loss of confidence."
Copies of his release order, signed by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa dated September 6, were furnished to Palace reporters Monday.
Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda confirmed that Malacañang has loss confidence on Gapan's ability to run his office.
The Palace official, however, would not give details as to why Gapan has been dismissed.
Gadapan was appointed to the PDEA in 2010, when President Aquino assumes office. He is also the director of PDEA Metro Manila regional office since 2008. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
