USGS: 4.9 quake hits Northern Samar

CEBU CITY -- A magnitude 4.9 earthquake shook some parts of Northern Samar Sunday afternoon, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported.
The USGS located the earthquake at 152 kilometers of Laoang, 161 kilometers of Pambujan, and 193 kilometers of Catarman, all in Northern Samar province.
The tremor, which was tectonic in origin, had a depth of 37.8 kilometers. It occurred around 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Other areas in Northern Samar that also felt the quake were Palapag, Bobon and Allen, among others.
Authorities have not reported any damage as of this posting Sunday. (Sunnex)
