MANILA -- Far Eastern University (FEU) made a return trip to the UAAP women's basketball finals on Sunday by sweeping the 14-game eliminations at the expense of National University, 58-50.
Veteran Allana Lim had 23 points and 10 rebounds as the Lady Tamaraws will march to the finals with a thrice-to-beat edge.
With the loss, NU will clash the Ateneo Lady Eagles in a playoff for the last semifinal slot, with the winner facing Adamson in the first step-ladder.
La Salle, which finished second in the double-round eliminations, will take on the winner of the first step-ladder match.
In juniors play, FEU-Diliman failed to duplicate the feat of their women counterparts after losing to NU, 75-80.
The Baby Tamaraws and the Bullpups are tied at 13-1 but FEU earned the top seed because of superior quotient.
In other results, Prince Martin finished with 18 points as UST turned back Ateneo, 72-64 to clinch the No.3 seed and arrange a semis meeting with NU.
The fourth-ranked Blue Eaglets will battle the Baby Tamaraws in the other Final Four pairing. (Virgil Lopez/Sunnex)
