MANILA -- A man who is four years short to qualify as candidate for senator filed his certificate of candidacy with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday.

Born January 14, 1981, Johnny Cris Sy claimed he is 28 years old. Under the Constitution, however, any senatorial aspirant should be at least 35 years old and can read and write, among other requirements.

Sy, a business manager, is the 27th and last person to file his COC Tuesday. He hails from Caloocan City.

Besides Sy, the following expressed interest to be elected in May 2013: Senator Francis Escudero, former Las Piñas City Representative Cynthia Villar, Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) Grace Poe-Llamanzares, Catalino Dazo, Valeriano Nocon III and Eduardo Fernandez.
