BORACAY ISLAND, Malay – Three Chinese nationals have died in a sea accident that happened off Boracay Island Wednesday afternoon.

Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Caticlan Safety Officer Ronnie Hiponia identified the three victims as Chen Sso Ching, 2; Leei Hyu Ming, 71 and Chang Hai Ling, 48.

"The three victims are all Chinese nationals but are Taiwanese residents," said Hiponia.

The victims together with 27 other Taiwanese nationals accompanied by six Filipino crews were onboard a motor boat for an island hopping when the boat capsized due to strong waves.

Based on PCG initial investigation, the incident happened around 1:30 pm when they were supposed to visit the Crocodile Island in Tambisaan, Malay Aklan.

Hiponia said they still continue to investigate the incident. (PNA)
