LOS ANGELES -- A federal judge in Los Angeles will decide next week whether the man behind an anti-Islamic film that sparked violence in the Middle East should be sent back to prison for violating his probation.

Mark Basseley Youseff is expected in a courtroom on Wednesday. He was convicted in 2010 of bank fraud.

Prosecutors say Youseff had eight violations, including lying to his probation officers and using aliases. Youseff also goes by the name of Nakoula Basseley Nakoula.

The 55-year-old was remanded into custody without bond after he was determined to be a flight risk.

Federal authorities say he was behind the film "Innocence of Muslims," which has led to violence in the Middle East and the deaths of dozens, including the US ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens. (AP)
