MANILA -- A no fly, no sail zone will be implemented in the country's eastern seaboard on October 26 when South Korea attempts to launch a satellite into orbit.
The National Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) said the no fly, no sail zone will be from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. affecting the 540 nautical miles of the country's eastern seaboard.
Among the affected areas are the Bicol Region, Samar, Leyte, Daraga Island, and Caraga region.
Regarding the possible scenarios during the launch, the NDRRMC said the satellite parts could disintegrate or burn in the air.
The debris from the satellite launch may also land on Isabela, Palanan, Samar, and Surigao.
NDRRMC director Benito Ramos said the government agencies are ready for the satellite launch. (Emmanuel Louis Bacani/Sunnex)
