MANILA -- Authorities on Tuesday finally filed two criminal charges against one of the two suspects who allegedly shot dead a policeman in Manila last week.
Antonio Lalu, 45, resident of Tondo Manila, is now facing charges of illegal possession of ammunition and robbery with homicide after allegedly killing Police Officer 1 Ryan Quinto Bagadiong, 36, on Saturday.
According to initial investigations, the slain police officer was shot by the suspects who were riding a motorcycle when they were flagged down for a traffic violation at the corner of UN Avenue and Del Pilar streets in Manila.
The suspects also allegedly took the victim's service firearm.
Bagadiong, who reportedly sustained 10 gunshot wounds, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Manila Doctors Hospital.
Reports said Lalu was arrested by police operatives Tuesday while the other unidentified suspect remains at large.
Meanwhile, the National Capital Region Police Office is reportedly considering giving an award to Bagadiong who fulfilled his mandate even at the cost of his life. (Emmanuel Louis Bacani/Sunnex)
