Police seize 23 sacks of gold ore in Ilocos Sur

CERVANTES, Ilocos Sur -- Police here seized 23 sacks of raw gold ore loaded in a van which was intercepted in a checkpoint on Wednesday.
The confiscated gold ores are now under police custody.
It was reported that the checkpoint operation was conducted after police received a tip-off about a Green Hilux vehicle from Quirino, Ilocos Sur loaded with sacks of gold ore.
The police immediately conducted a checkpoint and intercepted the vehicle loaded with gold ores.
The van’s driver identified as Joseph Alcantara was released by police after he posted bail but was charged for failing to show legal documents for the transport of the mineral. (PNA)
