MANILA -- About P50-million worth of suspected shabu were seized by authorities in an operation on Friday night.
In an interview over state-run dzRB radio on Saturday, new Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) head Arturo Cacdac Jr. said at least eight kilos of shabu were recovered in the recent anti-drug operation.
Cacdac did not reveal other details but radio reports said the confiscated illegal drugs were found inside a house along 10th Avenue at Barangay 60, Caloocan City.
The radio reports also said the value of the seized illegal drugs is pegged between P48 to P50 million.
Cacdac said Friday's operation is part of PDEA's strengthened campaign against illegal drugs.
Cacdac, who is a former Philippine National Police (PNP) deputy director, formally swore in last Thursday as new PDEA chief.
He replaced Jose Gutierrez, who reportedly resigned from his position. (Emmanuel Louis Bacani/Sunnex)
