Aquino names Petilla as new Energy chief

MANILA -- President Benigno Aquino III announced Thursday the appointment Leyte Governor Carlos Jericho "Icot" Petilla as the new Secretary of the Department of Energy.
Aquino made the announcement while on a three-day state visit in Australia.
Petilla will replace Rene Almendras who will be the President's Secretary to the Cabinet.
Almendras was earlier rumored to replace Julia Abad in Presidential Management Staff but Aquino said Abad will stay in her post. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
