PRC: 2,380 pass Civil Engineer board exam

MORE than 2,000 out of 5,747 examinees passed the November 2012 Civil Engineer Licensure Examination, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced Thursday.

The PRC said 2,380 examinees passed the board exam, which was given by the Board of Civil Engineering in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Legazpi this November 2012.

Romar Buhat Mesa of the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP)-Manila topped the exam, with 96.65 percent passing score.

Arjay Acosta Bustos of the Pamantasan ng Lunsgsod ng Maynila placed second (95.60 percent), followed by Leonard Medalla Malabanan of the Malayan Colleges-Laguna (95.55 percent) and Cesar Estillore Higoy Jr. of Saint Louis University (95.30 percent) on the third and fourth spot, respectively.

Sharing the fifth place are Patrick Aylsworth Garcia of Saint Louis University and Archibald Marcaida Lorenzo of the Pamantasan ng Lunsgsod ng Maynila. Both got 94.90 percent passing grade.

Catanduanes State Colleges' (CSC) John Michael Tuazon Bernal placed sixth with 94.65 percent passing score, followed by University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman's Ralph Christian dela Rosa Manlapig with CSC's Yuri Ibatuan Soriao in the seventh place (94.60 percent).

Jan Paulo Calubag Lisondra of Mindanao State University-Marawi (94.30 percent) ranked on the eighth place, while John Aldren Cañeta Molina of CSC got the ninth spot.

On the tenth place are Saturnino Eyas Diamzon III of the Pamantasan ng Lunsgsod ng Maynila, Jejomar Ugsimar Duque of Cebu Technological-Main, and Jayvee Lopez Gagan of TUP-Manila. They garnered a passong score of 94.20 percent.

UP-Diliman ranked first among the schools with 50 or more examinees and at least 80 percent passing rate. UP got 97.65 percent, with 83 out of 85 examinees passed the exam, the PRC said.

The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremonies of the new successful examinees is yet to be announced, the PRC added. (Sunnex)
