4.3-magnitude quake jolts Davao Oriental

CEBU CITY -- A magnitude-4.3 earthquake jolted the province of Davao Oriental on Thursday at 5:44 a.m., according to the Philippine Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

In its latest bulletin, Phivocls said that the quake's epicenter was located at 136 kilometers (km) east of Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental. It has a depth of 39 km.

Phivolcs said there was no immediate report of damage or injury.

Intensity 1 was felt in Davao City, the Philippine seismoligist said.

Phivolcs said there are no expected aftershocks.

The Philippines sits in the "Pacific Ring of Fire" where a large number of earthquake and volcanic activity occur. (Sunnex)
