MANILA -- Some 22 Filipinos from strife-torn Syria are expected to arrive Thursday night in Manila, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.
The repatriates are scheduled to arrive at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 10:15 p.m. aboard Qatar Airways flight QR 644.
From Aleppo, the repatriates were brought to the Philippine Embassy shelter in Damascus with the assistance of the Philippine Honorary Consul in the city, Wassim Nanaa.
They left Damascus for Beirut's Rafic Hariri International Airport on Wednesday, January 23.
Their arrival will bring the total number of repatriates to 3,371.
The DFA said it is renewing its call to all Filipinos who are still in Syria to seek immediate repatriation to avoid being caught in the worsening violence. (SDR/Sunnex)
