DFA confirms 8th Filipino casualty in Algeria

THE Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported that the number of Filipino fatalities in the Algeria hostage crisis has climbed to eight people.
DFA spokesperson Raul Hernandez said that based from his office’s coordination with the Algerian government, another Filipino was confirmed dead apart from the seven earlier reported on Thursday evening.
However, Hernandez refused to disclose the names of the fatalities according to the wishes of the victims’ families.
Most of the fatalities causes of death were from bullet wounds and effects from explosions.
There are still four Filipinos being treated in hospitals in Algeria due to wounds from the hostage crisis. (Sunnex with wire reports)
