PNP forms teams to ‘inspect’ checkpoints
-A A +ATuesday, January 29, 2013
THE Philippine National Police (PNP) said it will form inspection teams to ensure that proper and thorough inspections are done in every checkpoint in the cities of Metro Manila.
PNP Chief Alan Purisima said he wanted to ensure that real checkpoints are being done adding that this is his directive to the officials of the National Headquarters and the NCRPO.
"Bubuo po tayo ng inspection team sa different cities para makita kung talagang ginagampanan ang kanilang trabaho (we will form an inspection team in different cities to ensure that the police are doing their job)," Purisima said.
This after a string of robberies and shootings were noted even with the implementation of the election gun ban in the country.
Aside from robbery incidences in three SM malls, a businessman was shot dead yesterday in San Juan after withdrawing money from a bank.
Purisima said he doesn’t mind the traffic congestion the implementation of thorough checkpoints will create as long as the security of the people is not compromised.
The PNP chief also warned policemen to do their job well. (Sunnex with sire reports)
