Quakes hit Caraga, Davao regions

CEBU CITY -- Three earthquakes hit the provinces of Caraga and Davao on Wednesday evening, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Phivolcs, in its latest bulletin, said a 4.2-magnitude earthquake hit east of Burgos, Surigao del Norte around 8:57 p.m. of Wednesday. It has a depth of 11 kilometers (km).
The same area was hit by another quake with a 4.6-magnitude around 11:34 p.m. of the same day. It has a depth of 30 km, Phivolcs added.
Magnitude 4.9 earthquake also jolted east of Sarangani, Davao del Sur around 9:18 p.m. still of the same day. It has a depth of 31 km.
The Philippine seismologists said the earthquakes were all tectonic in origin.
As of this posting Thursday, there were no reported casualties, damages or aftershocks, Phivolcs added. (Sunnex)
