MANILA -- Light rains will be experienced in some parts of the country due to the diffused tail-end of the cold front affecting the eastern section of Luzon.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the tail-end of a cold front is the front boundary of two air masses, which produces clouds and rain.

In its advisory, Pagasa said that Cagayan Valley and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with light rains. Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region and Northern Mindanao will be cloudy with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast to East will prevail over Luzon, Eastern Visayas and Eastern Mindanao and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas.

Pagasa also said strong to gale-force winds associated with the northeast monsoon may affect the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon and the eastern seaboard of Visayas and Mindanao.

"Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves," it said. (PNA)
