4.1-magnitude quake rocks Davao del Sur

MANILA -- A magnitude 4.1 earthquake rocked parts of Davao del Sur on Saturday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
In its bulletin, the agency said the quake, with its epicenter located at 146 kilometers southeast of Saranggani in Davao del Sur, occurred at 3:31 a.m.
Phivolcs said the tremor was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 159 kilometers.
Meanwhile, a magnitude 3.4 quake hit Occidental Mindoro also on Saturday morning.
Philvocs said the quake was recorded at 1:52 a.m. and the epicenter was estimated at 82 km southwest of Mamburao in Occidental Mindoro.
The agency said the tremor was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 54 kilometers.
Phivolcs said that for both quakes, no damage or casualty was reported and aftershocks are not expected as well. (PNA)
