Mindoro vice guv falls off stage in Team PNoy campaign launch

MANILA -- A member of the ruling Liberal Party (LP) fell off a stage during the proclamation rally of Team PNoy at the Plaza Miranda in Quiapo, Manila, Tuesday night.
Occidental Mindoro Vice Governor Mario Mendiola, a candidate for governor in his province, was brought to the UST hospital following the freak accident. He was later transferred to San Juan de Dios Hospital in Pasay City.
"He was bleeding but conscious. The President (Benigno Aquino III) personally went to him and talked to him. He never left until we were able to lift him to a stretcher," Team PNoy campaign spokesperson Miro Quimbo said in a text message.
