Pagasa warns of possible flooding in S. Luzon

MANILA -- Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has issued a yellow rainfall advisory at 8 a.m. Friday for the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon in Southern Luzon advising residents in these areas to take precautions for heavy rainfall.
"Moderate to heavy rainfall was observed over Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon and (is) most likely to continue for the next three hours," it said.
"Flooding is possible in low-lying areas and those located near the river channels," Pagasa warned.
It also advised the residents in affected areas to "closely monitor the weather condition."
Metro Manila, Aurora, Bataan and Bulacan had been experiencing light to moderate rain while Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Zambales and Tarlac in Central Luzon have also been experiencing occasional light to moderate rains, Pagasa added.
It advised local disaster risk reduction and management councils to "take necessary precautionary measures." (PNA/Sunnex)
