Food poisoning downs 50 village officials in Ilocos Sur: report

MANILA -- At least 50 village and youth officials from Laguna who traveled to Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte on Saturday for an educational trip were sickened by alleged food poisoning, a radio report said.
A dzMM report said the village officials from Pila town complained of stomach pains and loose bowel movement hours after they ate tocino and egg for breakfast. The food was reportedly prepared by a hotel in Ilocos Sur.
Health authorities have yet to confirm the cause of the food poisoning as the victims’ condition is still being monitored. (Sunnex)
