MANILA -- Members of a Filipino youth organization are set to troop to the home of Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle to begin a prayer vigil that will last until a new Pope is elected in Vatican.
In a statement, the YouthPinoy said that it will hold a prayer vigil at the Arzobispado de Manila Chapel of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila (RCAM) in Intramuros, Manila, beginning Tuesday afternoon.
"Youth ministries, organizations or movements, campus ministries in dioceses under the National Capital Region, as well as the different Church sectors in nearby areas are especially invited to the vigil," said the group.
The vigil will run every 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. until a new Holy Father is announced.
Those who cannot come may also follow the vigil via live streaming on the group's website at www.youthpinoy.com.
The event will be opened by a mass to be celebrated by CBCP Media Director Monsignor Pedro Quitorio III to be followed by the prayer vigil.
Tagle, who is one of the 115 cardinal-electors tasked to select the new Pontiff replacing Pope emeritus Benedict XVI, is also considered to be one of the "papabile" or those who have the potential to be the next pope. (HDT/Sunnex)
