Teacher kidnapped in Zamboanga

SIX unidentified persons kidnapped a public school teacher Saturday night in Zamboanga City, police said.

Police chief inspector Ariel Tolorio Huesca, spokesperson of Zamboanga Peninsula Police Office, said that the victim identified as Al Roxas was seized around 7:20 p.m. at Barangay Campo Islam.

The suspects, believed to be members of kidnap for ransom group, were wearing uniforms of Philippine Army and Philippine Marines when they abducted the victim, who is a teacher at Western Mindanao State University in Zamboanga City.

Huesca said the suspects with Roxas fled towards Basilan province area on board two red motorized pump boats known as Jungkong.

The Zamboanga City police office is now conducting a thorough investigation on the incident, he said. (SDR/Sunnex)
