CIT-U graduate tops mining engineering exam-A A +A

CEBU CITY -- A graduate of the Cebu Institute of Technology University (CIT-U) topped the Mining Engineer Licensure Examination in August 2013.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced Friday that 117 out of 141 passed the examination given by the Board of Mining Engineering in Manila on August 2013.
CIT-University's graduate Richard Pasaporte Alamo top the list of passers, garnering 87.10 percent. He was followed by University of the Philippines Diliman's graduates Mardee Christian Lu Rabosa and Francis Lacambra Combinido who landed second and third, respectively.
Rabosa got a rating of 86.25 percent, while Combinido got a rating of 85.95 percent.
Taking the fourth and fifth spots are Wilma Jumao-as Minguito with a rating of 85.65 percent and Reshne Jay Bantilan Gonzaga -- both are also graduates of CIT-University.
The schools with the best performance are Adamson University with 100 percent passing rate. Bicol University Industrial Technology (BUCIT)-Legazpi also scored 100 percent.
Bicol University-Legazpi landed third as best performing school with a rating of 93.10 percent, while CIT-University landed fourth with 76.47 percent.
Mapua Institute of Technology-Manila landed fifth with a rating of 50 percent.
The PRC said in its website that the oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees, as well as the previous ones who have not taken their Oath of Profession will be announced later.
Registration for the issuance of Professional identification card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be on September 3, the PRC added.
Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), 1 piece passport size picture (colored with white background and complete nametag), 2 sets of metered documentary stamps and 1 short brown envelope with name and profession and to pay the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2013-2016. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals. (JAC/Sunnex)
