Tuesday, August 20, 2013
PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III's engagements for Tuesday will be reset as he continued to monitor the situation in Metro Manila which has been affected by massive flooding due to monsoon rain, Malacanang said.
"According to the Private Office, the President's engagements today will be rescheduled," said deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte.
She said that Aquino was getting constant updates from the concerned government agencies of the situation in Metro Manila and other areas affected by the heavy downpour.
"We'll advise as soon as we get any confirmation about new engagements/meetings," Valte said.
Aquino was supposed to be the guest of honor and speaker at the opening of "Laban Ni Ninoy" Photo Exhibit at the Ayala Malls Trinoma, Quezon City on Tuesday.
The exhibit is part of the commemoration of the 30th death anniversary of former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., who was assassinated at the then Manila International Airport when he returned to Manila after three years in exile in the United States. (SDR/Sunnex)
