Pagasa: Low pressure area within PAR-A A +A
Friday, August 23, 2013
THE state weather bureau spotted a low pressure area (LPA) 870 kilometers east of Mindanao and this may develop into a cyclone within two to three days, said weather forecaster Joey Figuracion.
Also in its 5 a.m. forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that while the southwest monsoon still affects Luzon, the rain it will bring will be lighter compared with rains in the past few days.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
Visayas is set to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain or thunderstorms.
Pagasa also issued a gale warning over the seaboards of Northern and Central Luzon, and the Western seaboard of Southern Luzon. This is due to the effect of the Southwest Monsoon surge, the weather agency said.
