CEBU - Hundreds of Cebuanos from different sectors marched from the Fuente Osmena Circle to Plaza Independencia on Monday to protest the abolition of the Priority Development Assistance Funds (PDAF) or "pork barrel."
Cebu City Traffic Operations Management (Citom) operator Rosario Torres said more than 100 people participated in the march, and some of them are members of the groups Gabriela, Bayan, and Anak Pawis.
Torres said other participants, including priests, also marched from the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral to Plaza Independencia.
"I joined the rally as a citizen of the republic of the Philippines and not as a member of any group...I demand for justice for they (government officials) have done much injustices to me for a long time...joining the rally is my participation of the "cry" of the citizenry for good governance...it is my participation for and of the dream of a better Philippines," one of the protesters said.
