MANILA -- Operations at the Kalibo International Airport in Aklan were suspended Monday after an international flight overshot the runway, an airport official said.
In a radio interview, Aklan airport manager Percy Malonesio said the affected plane belonged to Seair and was bound for Singapore.
Malonesio said no one was hurt in the accident, and the passengers were brought to the airport terminal.
He said their initial findings showed the plane was preparing for takeoff but overshot the runway.
The airport had to temporarily close while the accident was documented, he said.
Malonesio said he expects the airport to reopen within the day. (JK/Sunnex)
