Doctor stabbed while trying to help man-A A +A

A DOCTOR of Chong Hua Hospital was stabbed when he tried to help a victim of snatching Wednesday afternoon.
The doctor was identified as Benjamin P. Alix Jr., 33, single and a resident of Cebu City. The snatchers have not yet been identified, said police.
Police investigation revealed that Alix was waiting for a public utility jeepney in front of the City Library, Osmena Blvd. around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday when he noticed a snatcher approaching a male person who was also waiting for a jeepney along the street.
The snatcher then grabbed the victim’s phone. Alix tried to help the victim, but the snatcher’s companion attacked him with a kitchen knife.
Alix sustained a stab wound on his chest. He was rushed to Chong Hua Hospital for medical treatment, while the suspects managed to escape.
The Cebu City Police Office is still conducting pursuit operations against the suspects. (Jerson B. Rufin, PIT intern/Sunnex)
