Radio reports said security was tightened further at the Fort Sto. Domingo following the arrival of Napoles.
Napoles will be staying in a 25-square meter detention facility, where "high value" detainees like former President Joseph Estrada, his son Jinggoy, and Moro National Liberation Front chair Nur Misuari previously stayed.
In a press briefing held Sunday morning, Philippine National Police Special Action Force Commander Dir. Carmelo Valmoria said they secured the area Saturday.
"Secured na yung room niya kahapon pa, hindi lang na-transfer agad kasi yung second layer before sa bahay (detention facility) ay nilagyan ng fence to ensure na di makikita from the outside para sa mga possible threat," Valmoria said.
He also said that they have doctors within the facility in case Napoles needs to be brought to the hospital. Napoles has diabetes, reports said.
"May dalawang duty na pulis na 24/7 iyon. Walang tali or kurtina or anumang sharp objects," said Valmoria in case Napoles attempts to commit suicide.
Napoles was detained at the Makati City Jail since Thursday night, when she was brought there on the orders of the Makati Regional Trial Court.
She was brought to Camp Crame after surrendering to President Benigno Aquino III in Malacañang. (JK/Sunnex)
