Makati judge won’t inhibit from Napoles case-A A +A
Monday, September 2, 2013
JUDGE Elmo Alameda will continue to hear the serious illegal detention case against Janet Napoles, junking her camp's motion to inhibit on Monday for lack of merit.
Alameda, presiding judge of Makati Regional Trial Court branch 150, found no valid reason to grant the request of Napoles, who accused him of acting with undue haste in issuing the arrest warrants against her and brother, Reynald Lim.
He said he can still maintain the "cold neutrality of an impartial judge" in the case regarding the alleged disappearance of whistleblower Benhur Luy from December to March this year.
Napoles, currently detained at Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, will be arraigned on September 9. (Virgil Lopez/Sunnex)
