Death toll from Cebu ferry tragedy now 111-A A +A

THE death toll from the August 16 collision of the M/V Saint Thomas Aquinas 1 and the M/V Sulpicio Express Siete went up to 111 Thursday morning.
This was disclosed by the Philippine Coast Guard, which also said the number of rescued passengers remained at 733, with 26 still missing.
MV Saint Thomas Aquinas 1 sank after colliding with the MV Sulpicio Express Siete. The collision also produced an oil spill that affected Cordova, Cebu.
Cebu has since declared a state of calamity over the entire province. (JK/Sunnex)
