A TRAYSIKAD (bicycle with an attached sidecar and third wheel) driver was shot by three unidentified men who were onboard a motorcycle Wednesday evening at sitio Villa Bulsita, Bulacao, Cebu city.
Police identified the victim as Lerry Echavez Radam, 31, a resident of Barangay Bulacao, while the suspects remained unidentified as of Thursday morning.
Initial investigation conducted by the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Homicide Section revealed that the victim was waiting for passengers along sitio Villa Bulsita around 7 p.m. Wednesday when the suspects shot him.
Witnesses saw the suspects onboard a motorcycle. One of the two backriders, wearing a dark blue shirt, alighted from the motorcycle and shot the victim four times using a handgun.
The gunman boarded the motorcycle back and they sped off toward Barangay Pardo, Cebu City.
Radam died on the spot due to gunshot wounds on his head and back right side of his body.
Police recovered one empty slug and four empty shells of Caliber 45 gun at the crime scene.
Radam’s body was brought to Surelife Funeral Services for autopsy.
As of this posting, the CCPO is still conducting hot pursuit operation against the suspects. The motive behind the incident remains unknown. (Jerson B. Rufin and Akimie R. Losorata, PIT interns/Sunnex)
