LPA now Tropical Depression Odette-A A +A

MANILA -- The low pressure area (LPA) in Casiguran, Aurora has developed into a tropical depression and was named "Odette," the 15th cyclone to enter the country this year.
As of 4 p.m. Monday, the center of the tropical depression was located at 930 kilometers (km) east of Casiguran, Aurora, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
The weather bureau said Odette, carrying maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph), is forecast to move west northwest at seven kph.
Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon and Occidental Mindoro will experience cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms that may trigger flashfloods and landslides.
Coastal waters in these areas will be moderate to rough.
The rest of Luzon and Visayas will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Mindanao will be partly cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. (Sunnex)
