A 44-YEAR-OLD utility man committed suicide Monday morning at the parking area of Banco de Oro-Borromeo branch in Magallanes St., Barangay Ermita, Cebu City, due to financial problem.
The victim was identified as Patricio Agonsada, single, a resident of Warwick Barracks, Barangay Ermita.
Personnel of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) responded to the incident after a concerned citizen reported about it. Police then found the victim hanging with a GI wire tied around his neck through the iron grill fence of the bank.
Responding Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (Eruf) personnel immediately cut off the wire on his neck and tried to revive Agonsada, but he was then declared dead.
Police investigation revealed that there were no signs of struggle that would indicate foul play.
Cresencio Catalan, brother of the victim, said that prior to the incident, Agonsada and his mother had an argument over the latter’s illness that needs financial assistance.
Catalan believes that the argument might be the reason of Agonsada’s death.
Agonsada’s cadaver was brought to Surelife Funeral Services for post mortem examination. (Jerson B. Rufin and Akimie R. Losorata, PIT interns/Sunnex)
