Revilla: Don’t judge senators charged for pork mess-A A +A
Monday, September 16, 2013
DON'T judge us.
This was the plea of one of three senators facing plunder charges for their alleged involvement in a multi-billion pork barrel fund mess.
Senator Ramon Revilla Jr. said he is prepared to air his side at the proper time and the proper venue.
"Ang hiling ko lang sa sambayanan huwag kaming husgahan, ipapaliwanag namin (My plea to the public is not to judge us. We will explain)," a teary-eyed Revilla told reporters at the Senate Monday afternoon.
The Justice Department and the National Bureau of Investigation sent to the Ombudsman truckloads of evidence that may result in plunder charges against Revilla, Senate minority leader Juan Ponce Enrile and Jose "Jinggoy" Estrada.
Senator Vicente Sotto III said Enrile was rushed to the hospital last Saturday due to high blood pressure. Enrile was not at Monday's session, radio reports said. (JK/Sunnex)
