Storm signal no. 1 lifted in 3 Luzon areas-A A +A

MANILA (Updated, 5:47 p.m.) -- The weather bureau has lifted public storm signal no. 1 in Cagayan including Calayan and Babuyan Group of Islands in Luzon as Tropical Storm Odette remains almost stationary on Tuesday afternoon.
As of 4 p.m., Odette, the 15th cyclone to enter the country, was located at 815 kilometers (km) east of Tuguegarao City, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) in its latest bulletin.
The tropical storm is expected to remain almost stationary within the next 24 to 36 hours and will enhance the southwest monsoon that will bring light to moderate rains and thunderstorm over the western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Pagasa said Odette is forecast to be at 790 km east of Tuguegarao City by Wednesday afternoon and at 300 km east of Aparri, Cagayan by Friday afternoon.
The estimated rainfall amount is from 15 to 20 millimeters per hour within the 350 km diameter of the tropical storm. (Sunnex)
