Thursday, October 3, 2013
MALACANANG vowed Thursday to cooperate in the investigation on the alleged misuse of P900-million Malampaya fund during the previous administration.
Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda made the statement after Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Undersecretary Mario Relampagos was included among those charged with plunder before the Office of the Ombudsman by the Department of Justice.
"The DBM will cooperate fully with the investigation, especially with respect to the present inquiry on the use of Malampaya funds/PDAF (priority development assistance fund)," said Lacierda, citing the statement of Budget Secretary Florencio Abad.
But as of the moment, Lacierda said the Palace could not comment on Relampagos' alleged involvement in the alleged Malampaya fund scam.
"We will also wait until the investigation has concluded before we proceed with the appropriate course of action," he said. (SDR/Sunnex)
