MANILA -- Vehicles were crawling at a snail pace as police closed to traffic roads near the Supreme Court in preparation of the hearing on the pork barrel system Tuesday afternoon.
Manila Police District (MPD) officers set up metal barricades prompting a traffic jam near the corner of Taft Avenue and Padre Faura street.
Police also closed off a portion of Orosa Street near premises of the Supreme Court, reports said.
MPD officers also deployed Civil Disturbance Management Unit teams to the site.
Meanwhile, militant groups including Bagong Alyansang Makabayan and the Pinagkaisang Samahan ng Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide gathered near the Supreme Court in time for Tuesday afternoon's hearing. (JK/Sunnex)
