Sto. Tomas police chief Superintendent Bernard Danie Dasugo named the fatality as Leopoldo Cabanilla, the driver of the motorcycle.
The 15 injured, all occupants of the passenger jeep, were taken to hospitals. One of the 15 is in critical condition, Dasugo said,
Dasugo also said the incident occurred around 5 a.m. at a national road in San Rafael village.
He said the ALPS bus, heading towards Sto. Tomas proper, overtook another vehicle. It encroached into the opposite lane and rammed the passenger jeep.
The motorcycle hit in the process the passenger jeep, which it was tailing.
Dasugo said the driver and the conductor of the bus escaped. He said a liaison officer of ALPS bus company promised to surrender the unnamed bus driver. (VR/Sunnex)
